Heike Riel appointed honorary doctor

Heike Riel, member of the Scientific Advisory Board

Long-time NanoLund collaborator Dr. Heike Riel is one of three newly appointed honorary doctors by Lund University’s Faculty of Engineering in 2015/2016. She is the leader of the highly successful  Materials Integration & Nanoscale Devices (MIND) group at IBM Research in Zürich. Heike Riel has collaborated with NanoLund researchers in the EU-project Nanowire-Based One-Dimensional Electronics (NODE) which started 2005, and which helped accelerate NanoLund’s efforts in nanoelectronics. Heike Riel receives the honorary doctorate in recognition of her outstanding contributions to nanoscale research.

In 2013, Heike Riel was named IBM Fellow, the company's highest technical distinction.
