Research:

My main interest is electron microscopy of nanostructured materials. This is mainly done by studying the light emitted by the structures under the electoron beam. This technique known as Cathodoluminescence and is more commonly used to generate the image on an old-fashioned TV set. Using this technique, it is possible to study the optical properties of nanostructures on a scale well below 100nm.

Teaching:

My main contrubution to teaching up until 2010 was that I was in charge of the course "Device Physics", a compulsory course for second year electrical engineering students. The course is given in Swedish, the second half of the spring semester. The goal of the course is to give the electrical engineering students some insights into how the basic devices work and why they work.

When I was appointed director of doctoral studies in 2010, I resigned from teaching.
