Research:My research project focuses on the characterization of the artificial molecular motor dubbed ‘the Lawnmower’, in collaboration with Prof. Forde’s group at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver. The Lawnmower is an artificial, protein-based, burned-bridges molecular motor design that relies on rectified diffusion to move along a 1-dimensional track.I also study the lightguiding properties of III-V nanowires and the opportunities they offer for biosensing applications, especially in the context of molecular motors and supported lipid bilayers. I started my PhD studies in Prof. Heiner Linke's group within the PhD4Energy project in November 2014. |
