Research:

Physical modeling of nanoscale optoelectronic and photonic devices in close collaboration with experimentalists. My main goals include both (1) generating fundamental understanding of the physical phenomena underlying the operation of nanoscale devices and (2) designing new device structures with potential for added functionality or higher efficiency. Current special interests include diffusion-driven charge transport and development of hybrid simulation models that account for both the optical and electronic properties of nanoscale photonic devices. I work closely with experimentalists, aiming to directly benefit the experimental device development and to interpret complex characterization results.
