Welcome to an exciting symposium that NanoLund is co-organising together with Lund University in the framework of the University's 350-year celebrations:

The Infrastructures of the Future: Basic Science in Dynamic Regions, 17-18 October 2017 in Lund

The vision for Science Village Scandinavia is to create a vital ecosystem that integrates education, scientific research, innovation and industrial production based on the advanced materials research and nanotechnology at ESS, MAX IV and Lund University including NanoLund.

What infrastructure is needed to ensure that innovations can reach all the way from science to production? What will attract the best brains to research and development? How can we ensure exciting paths for career development for the students we educate?

These and other questions will be discussed by speakers and panelists who will include Curtis Carlson (former President of Stanford Research Institutes), Heike Riel (Executive Director of IBM Research Frontiers Institute), Allan Larsson (former Chief Negotiator for ESS), Charlotte Brogren (Director General of Vinnova) and many others. The full program is attached.

We very much hope that many of you will join us for this important discussion.
