Density-matrix theory of quantum cascade lasers: Localization effects

Author

  • Carsten Weber

  • Andreas Wacker

Summary, in English

A density-matrix theory is employed to study dynamical effects in a THz quantum cascade laser. Varying the tunnel coupling across the injection barrier by changing the barrier width, different regimes are distinguished where stationary and dynamics-induced localization effects are found and discussed.
