ERC grant to NanoLund affiliated faculty member

Per Augustsson, Affiliated faculty member of NanoLund and Associate Professor at the department of Biomedical Engineering at Lund University, has been awarded an ERC Proof of Concept Grant for the project TAPAS, Taking blood apart by sound.

Per Augustsson is one of 55 researchers from around Europe who receives EUR 150,000 from the European Research Council to investigate the commercial potential of research from their ERC Starting grant.

In his research, Per Augustsson involves how sound can be used to sort and separate blood cells and with this Proof of Concept Grant, he will investigate the possibility of applying acoustic separation when extracting specific cell subgroups directly from blood.
