Lund Nano Lab Awarded Platinum Certification by My Green Lab

A diploma from the My Green Lab
Lund Nano Lab has been awarded one of the highest levels of certifications by My Green Lab, a non-profit organisation with a mission to build a global culture of sustainability in science.

Last year, Sarah McKibbin received funding from the Lund University Sustainability Fund for a project aimed at making the Lund Nano Lab greener by optimising lab routines, minimising unnecessary consumption of lab consumables, recycling when possible, and improving user behavior. This has now resulted in recognition from a laboratory sustainability programme – My Green Lab.

Following the successful funding application led by Sarah McKibbin, the Lund Nano Lab has now completed a comprehensive sustainability assessment and been awarded Platinum level certification by My Green Lab – one of the highest levels of recognition in the programme. This certification reflects the lab’s commitment to improving environmental performance in research settings.

“The team will continue to implement further sustainability measures and actively engage with the user community to raise awareness and promote responsible lab practices. Support from Tillväxtverket – the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth – towards improving sustainability will enable us to build on this momentum and ensure that greening the Lund Nano Lab remains a long-term priority,” says Luke Hankin, head of Lund Nano Lab (Myfab Lund).
