Backed by an initial public offering (IPO) and a Vinnova grant the NanoLund spin-off company NordAmps is now gathering resources to take its technology to market. NordAmps addresses the growing demand for faster and more energy-efficient data transmission in areas such as telecommunications, satellite communications, advanced sensor systems, and defence electronics.

NordAmps AB was founded a decade ago and the company has since developed a semiconductor technology that combines high-frequency performance and low power consumption of III–V materials with the scalability and cost efficiency of silicon. The result: circuits with a capacity to perform at new levels for applications in telecommunications, satellite communications, advanced sensor systems and defence electronics.

NordAmps was recently awarded a SEK 2.5 million grant from Vinnova to support the industrialisation of its technology through the EU Semiconductor Programme Pilot lines (part of the EU Chips Joint Undertaking technology development at VTT in Finland). The funding will not only help accelerate the company’s industrialisation project but also marks a validation of both the technology and the commercial potential.

Another important step for NordAmps is the ongoing initial public offering (IPO) and upcoming market listing at the Nasdaq First North Growth Market. The offering amounts to SEK 75.2 million.

NordAmps was founded by professors Lars-Erik Wernersson and Erik Lind, among others at the Department of Electrical and Information Technology. Anette Löfstrand, alumni of NanoLund is part of the production team at NordAmps.
