Alumni Career talks
Winter is finally here and we are happy to announce a new series of career talks by PhD alumnus of the Department of Physics and Nanolund. This event will be jointly organized by the doctoral student council at Physics and the Nanolund PhD representatives. These events will primarily be aimed at PhD students, but everyone is welcome. The purpose of these series is to introduce students to potential career opportunities inside and outside of academia.
For the first installment on Wednesday 4. December, 16:00 in k-space (Q179) we have two invited speakers, to tell us about their work now, how they got there after graduating and maybe what's coming in the future.
Each presentation will be 20 minutes long followed by 10 minutes of question and answer session. After this session, we will have an after-work gathering, where you will also have a good opportunity to interact with the speakers.
About the Speakers:
Sven is a former PhD student in the Division of Solid State Physics. Currently, he is a research scientist and consultant at Techseed, an employee-owned IT consulting company. Sven supports R&D teams at Sony with computer vision, machine learning, and algorithm development.
Mattias is a former PhD student in the division of Mathematical Physics. Currently, he works with investments in science-based startups at the venture capital fund Industrifonden.
