The EU Day Lund – including seminar: European semiconductor initiatives and their Lund perspective
THE EU DAY LUND is a conference that will highlight the major societal trends that affect the future of Lund, Skåne and Europe as well as how to deal with common challenges that can contribute in making both Swedish business and research globally competitive and attractive.
The purpose of the EU DAY is to raise awareness of the EU, by highlighting how EU policy affects the everyday life of organizations. Further, the organizers want to promote knowledge exchange and networking with players from all sectors and levels; i.e. business, research and the public sector, from a local to European level.
At 13.30-14.30 NanoLund is hosting a seminar on the global shortage of semi conductors: European semiconductor initiatives and their Lund perspective.
To provide a secure and stable digital infrastructure is central for the function of our society, and critical for the transition towards a climate neutral economy. However, our vulnerability is on full display since large industrial sectors are hit by shortage of semiconductor components for computer chips. Europe is now mobilising to become self-sustaining and world-leading. How will we succeed? What are the hurdles? And what does research in Lund has to do with it?
Invited speakers are:
Dr Colette Maloney, Head of Unit “Microelectronics and Photonics Industry” European Commission – DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology
Igor Tasevski, Vice President and Head of Product Development Unit Radio, Ericsson
Lars-Erik Wernersson, Professor Nanoelectronics EIT, LTH
Anders Mikkelsen, Director NanoLund
