Physics and Technology of Semiconductor Spin and Topological Quantum Computing
At 9 o’clock (sharp) on Wednesday, October 2nd Prof Hongqi Xu, director of the division of quantum computing at Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences, will give a seminar in k-space.
The talk includes three parts:
(1) An overview of research activities on the quantum computing science and technology in Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS)—a new research institution in Beijing—where I serve as the director of the Division of Quantum Computing. This part will target to general physicists.
(2) An overview of research activities in my semiconductor spin and topological quantum computing group at Peking University/BAQIS.
(3) Our recent results on the physics of semiconductor Josephson junctions under strong correlation and/or microwave irradiation. This part will be included only if there is a number of interested persons in the audience and if time is allowed.
Prof Xu will start with part (1) above and then there will be a short discussion and questions after which there will be a possibility to leave the seminar at this point for those not wish to stay for the more detailed parts. Prof Xu will then continue for those interested in parts (2) and (3). After part (2) we will again follow up with questions and discussions. Then the specialists and further interested will stay and listen to part (3).
Prof Xu has spent more than 20 years at Lund University out of which >10 years as full professor and is still a visiting professor at Lund University. We are looking forward to hearing about his activities in China.
