SRA workshop series: SDG 7 Affordable and clean energy: The goal is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all by 2030
Do you want to learn more about how to relate your research to sustainable development and initiate collaborations with researchers in other fields? The Strategic Research Areas, in collaboration with Sustainability Forum, is arranging a series of workshops with focus on the Sustainable Development Goals, during 2021. This workshop is the first within the theme Proposal writing.
The workshop aims to discuss how research within Lund University can contribute to make SDG 7 a reality. Today researchers at Lund University are developing new and more energy efficient materials and devices with the power to improve energy infrastructures as well as harvesting fossil-free energy. But in order to reach the goal, modern energy for all, we also need to transform our society as a whole. In the workshop we will discuss social and environmental impacts of emerging solutions in this area, consider funding trends, and provide an opportunity to explore possible collaboration across research groups.
More information regarding the program will provided closer to the workshop.
In connection to this theme the doctoral course Sustainability impact will be arranged, open to all doctoral students.
The workshop is arranged in collaboration with the Strategic Research Areas NanoLund, ELLIIT and BECC.
Aim of the workshop series
As the climate and other planetary crises escalate, there is a need to develop the SRA’s to better meet the societal challenges and to find solutions to achieve a socially, environmentally and economically sustainable development worldwide.
The aim of the workshops is to develop work processes of common interest, exchange experiences and strengthen sustainability collaboration between research areas, as well as to create a broader reflection on sustainability issues at Lund university and in society. The sustainable development goals can in this context function as a common language connecting academic activities with policy goals.
Workshops will mainly target researchers, doctoral students and research coordinators/administrators from the Strategic Research Areas, but the workshops will be open to all staff within Lund University.
