Kick-off for LINXS Theme Semiconductors
How can advanced characterization techniques support future semiconductor technologies? The Semiconductors Theme at LINXS focuses on bringing together expertise in synchrotron-based methods, materials science, and device development to enable new ideas and collaborations across academia and industry.
Advanced semiconductor technology is crucial for meeting several of our most urgent environmental and societal challenges. Large efforts are ongoing towards the development of improved materials and novel semiconductor device concepts. X-ray- and neutron-based characterization offers key possibilities for the characterization of semiconductor materials and for an in-depth understanding of the physical and chemical effects involved in semiconductor technology.
With this theme, the aim is to strengthen interaction and collaboration between experts in synchrotron-based material characterization and semiconductor device development, from both academia and industry, in Sweden and Europe. The Theme aims to contribute to novel semiconductor functionality by exploring fundamental material aspects, to initiate novel synchrotron-based research on semiconductors, and to educate the next generation of researchers from academia and industry in combining semiconductor device development with advanced characterization, including X-rays and neutrons.
Join us when we kick off the Semiconductors LINXS Theme with this lunch-to-lunch workshop, including presentations from invited experts, discussions about most relevant topics and needs within the Theme, and time for networking and exchange of results, approaches, and ideas. We welcome senior and junior researchers, you who are expert in the field and you who are new and want to learn more!
