Title: Unveiling the Mystery of the Electrode–Electrolyte Interface: From Liquid to Solid
Abstract:Rechargeable metal-ion batteries are vital for future energy storage, and their performance is largely determined by the electrode–electrolyte interface. For metals such as lithium, sodium, magnesium, and zinc, this interface governs ion transport, stability during cycling, and the occurrence of side reactions. This talk will explore how the interface changes when moving from today’s liquid electrolytes to emerging solid electrolytes. By providing a broad overview of these interfacial challenges and opportunities, the presentation will highlight why mastering this “hidden boundary” is essential for developing safer and more powerful next-generation batteries.
