The Sparbanksstiftelsen Färs and Frosta awards the Sparbanken Skåne Prize to a new doctor at LTH for particularly outstanding doctoral thesis. In 2022, prize is awarded to Louise Gren, for her thesis in the field of areosol technology. The thesis is entitled: Renewable Diesel Fuels and Emission Control Strategies - Implications for Occupational Exposure, Human Health, and the Environment

The thesis is about studying emissions from diesel-based internal combustion engines for heavy machinery. Louise Gren compares bio-diesel with conventional diesel for engines with and without exhaust gas cleaning and particulate filters, a subject that links to climate impact, health, air quality and sustainable development in a broader perspective.

Louise Gren has enabled unique new interdisciplinary collaborations on renewable fuels, especially different types of biomass-based diesel fuels, such as hydrogenated residues and waste products and vegetable oils.
