“Nanoscience and Semiconductor Technology” becomes LTH profile area

LTH (the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University) now launches profile areas to be able to stronger respond to societal challenges. We are happy to announce that ”Nanoscience and Semiconductor Technology” is among the first ones.

LTH’s profile areas are intended to be horizontal platforms for research, collaboration, and education and a way to develop LTH’s research and make it visible and concrete. The profile areas include several strong research groups to strengthen the pillars. 

“I am very happy that Nanoscience and Semiconductor Technology will become one of the first LTH profile areas”, says Anders Mikkelsen.

Responsible use of resources, smarter and more efficient use of energy, future information technologies, and better health through more precise tools in medicine.

The profile area has world-leading expertise and infrastructures and explores the unique opportunities offered by nanoscience and semiconductor technology. The purpose is to contribute to responsible use of resources, smarter and more efficient use of energy, future information technologies, and better health through more precise tools in medicine.

The coordinators for the new profile area will be Anders Mikkelsen and Maria Messing. The official kick-off for all the profile areas will take place on the 27th of September.

Anders Mikkelsen wants to thank everyone involved for their input during the original writing and development.

“We will be using all of this together in the future”, he says.
