Professor Lars Samuelson has been elected as a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, CAS, in the class of Mathematics and Physics.

“This is highly recognised in China, and internationally, and certainly a nice feather in the cap for NanoLund as well”, says Lars Samuelson.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is the national Academy for Natural Sciences and the highest consultancy for science and technology in China. Also, it is the world’s largest research organisation, with 100 research institutes, 3 universities, 69 thousand full-time employees, and 79 thousand graduate students.

Lars Samuelson is joined by another Swede – Svante Pääbo – who has done parts of his Nobel Prize-winning research in China together with leading Chinese researchers.
